Since the early 90's, Darren's body of work has journeyed from a surrealistic style to abstract and all the way back to surreal.  Over the past 10 years he has concentrated on strengthening and refining both styles.  Now he easily flows between them.  What he presents is a fusion of the two.

He works hard at creating a sense of settledness... peace... by color for mood, and shape for movement and direction -- or vice versa.  Absolutely all of his works start with one gentle whisper of an idea, then they evolve into intriguing stories of their own. 

All of his life he has been an artist.  For the past 15 years he has been painting and most of his work is in oils.
